If you want your children to be intelligent, read them fairy tales.
- Albert Einstein

There is a universal truth we all have to face, whether we want to or not: everything eventually ends. As much as I looked forward to this day, I’ve always disliked endings. Last day of summer, the final chapter of a great book, parting ways with a close friend. But endings are inevitable. Leaves fall, we close the book, you say good-bye. Today is one of those days for us. Today we say good-bye to everything that was familiar, everything that was comfortable. We’re moving on. But just because we’re leaving and that hurts, there are some people who are so much a part of us, they’ll be with us no matter what. They are our solid ground, our North Star, and the small clear voices in our hearts that will be with us. Always.

Even though we weren’t close, I still cut this out of the paper and kept it. Cleaning out my drawers today I found it

“Mom, listen, I haven’t been together with Topanga for 22 years, but we have been together for 16. That’s a lot longer than most couples have been together. I mean, when we were born, you told me that we used to take walks in our strollers together around the block. When we were two, we were best friends. I mean, I knew everything about this girl. I knew her favorite color, her favorite food. Then we became six, Eric made fun of me because it wasn’t cool to have a best friend that was a girl or even know a girl. So for the next seven years I threw dirt at her. I like to call those “the lost years”. Then when I was thirteen, mom, she put me up against my locker and she kissed me. I mean, she gave me my first kiss. She taught me how to dance. She always was talking about these crazy things and I never understood a word she said. All I understood was that she was the girl I sat up every night thinking about, and when I’m with her, I feel happy to be alive. Like I can do anything. Even talk to you like this. So that’s, that’s what I think is love, mom. When I’m better because she’s here.” - Cory Matthews, Boy Meets World

Key Guns 1600s

‘Jailers’ keys were apparently filled with gun powder to create a primitive gun that could be detonated if there was any trouble when opening a cell door. We found several original versions that back up this claim, dating from the 17th century and of various complexity.’
